Swedish Massage uses a variety of gliding strokes and circular motions to promote relaxation of the muscles and the nervous system.  Pressure ranges from light to moderate. Full body Swedish massage relieves sore muscles, reduces our everyday stress and is a wonderful way to relax and rejuvenate.

Deep Tissue/Sports/Myofascial –

Deeper massage releases muscles, tendons and fascia to increase flexibility and promote muscle recovery.  Pressure ranges from moderate to deep. The work can include some of the same techniques as Swedish but then adds deeper strokes and stretches to mobilize scar tissue, break-up adhesions and improve range of motion in the joints. 

 

Sports Massage may be done pre or post-athletic events or to maintain optimum athletic performance in one's everyday life.

Myofascial Therapy combines deep yet soothing massage with soft tissue spreading techniques. This modality is a great choice for those interested in improving body awareness, flexibility and exploring how the physical/mental/emotional/spiritual aspects of ourselves connect and influence each other.

Hot Stone Massage –

Hot Stone Massage uses heated stones as an extension of the therapist's hands. The heat expands the blood vessels, increases lymphatic drainage and releases toxins from muscles and organs.  This is a deeply relaxing massage, great for melting away tension, easing muscle stiffness and boosting metabolism. Some of the hot stones are placed on key points of your body and some are held by the therapist during this session.

CranioSacral Therapy – 

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health.  Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams – about the weight of a nickel – the therapist releases restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system.  CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease and it is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

Reiki –

Reiki is a form of alternative medicine called energy healing.  It is a hands-on healing technique through which “universal energy” is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the client in order to encourage emotional and/or physical healing.  Reiki can help release blocks that have formed in the body (often unconsciously) through mental and emotional trauma. It can also be just a great way to completely relax and “let go” of that which no longer serves your highest good.
